Dr. Con is a recipient of the Appreciation Award from President Barack Obama for the medical care provided during the January 8th, 2011 Tucson shooting as well the Cornerstone Award 2014 and 2015 from the John Michael Moore Trauma Center.

Shwetha V. She received her medical degree from Temple University and completed her residency in the Primary Care/Social Internal Medicine Program Track at Montefiore. She developed and completed training as a global health faculty fellow in the Global Health and Clinical Skills Fellowship at Montefiore. Her area of interest includes medical education, specifically in curriculum development and evaluation. She has adapted and teaches a weight management curriculum for residents, developed and co-directs the clinical reasoning curriculum, and has refined the advocacy and women’s health curriculum for the residency program. Her current curricular focus is to integrate social determinants of health and antiracism education longitudinally while deepening relationships with local community-based organizations. Associate Program Director for Diversity and Inclusion for the Osler Medical Residency Assistant Professor of Medicine Johns Hopkins Medicine | Dr. Orozco is an Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Divisions of General Internal Medicine and Pediatrics at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. She is a Harvard College graduate and completed her medical studies at the University of California, Los Angeles as part of the Charles Drew University Program. She pursued residency training in Internal Medicine/Pediatrics with the Johns Hopkins Urban Health Med/Peds Program. She serves currently as the Deputy Director of Pipeline Initiatives at CentroSOL (Johns Hopkins Center for Salud/Health and Opportunities for Latinos), as well as the Director for Diversity and Inclusion with the Johns Hopkins Urban Residency Program. Harsha S. He has special expertise in age-related changes of the eyelids and surrounding tissues, eyelid and tear duct trauma, and peri-ocular tumors. Dr. Reddy strives to understand each patient as a person, to communicate clearly about all the available options, and to provide compassionate individualized medical and surgical care. Dr. Reddy is passionate about expanding knowledge in his field through teaching and research. His publications include numerous peer-reviewed articles, and he has presented at international scientific conferences. Dr. Reddy has also served overseas on medical trips to Nepal and Ethiopia. Ingrid A. Walker Descartes, MD, MPH MBA Vice Chair for Education Director Pediatric Residency Program Director Center for Vulnerable Children Maimonides Medical Center | Dr. Ingrid Walker-Descartes is a pediatrician and the Vice Chair of Education in the Department of Pediatrics, at Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn, NY. She is also the Program Director for the Pediatrics residency training program as well as the Child Abuse fellowship. Dr. Walker-Descartes completed her residency at New York Methodist Hospital, followed by a fellowship at Mount Sinai Medical Center. Dr. Ingrid Walker-Descartes is active in research and authored several publications and educational materials, and given many presentations. Her academic appointments include an HRSA Clinical Research Fellowship in General Academic Pediatrics at Mount Sinai School of Medicine, where she also is an instructor. Dr. Walker-Descartes is the Co-chair for the Child Protection Committee and Co-chair for the American Academy of Pediatrics, Chapter 2 Committee on the Prevention of Family Violence. She is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics, and the Ambulatory Pediatric Association. She is an APA New Century Scholar Junior Mentor, part of the AAP Special Interest Group on Child Abuse and Neglect, and a Faculty Scholar at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine Office of Ethnic and Multicultural Affairs. Dr. Walker-Descartes has been the recipient of numerous honors, such as the Woodward Scholarship of the Office of Ethnic and Multicultural Affairs, the Medical Society of the State of New York Community Service Award, the Fannie Henry Rice Scholarship, and the Rochester Prize Scholarship. She is involved in community service including the Organization for International Development, which provides medical outreach to underserved communities in Jamaica without access to healthcare. |

Dr. Fang’s clinical interests include gender affirming surgeries especially chest reconstruction, facial palsy reconstruction, brachial plexus and peripheral nerve reconstruction, microsurgical reconstruction, and aesthetic surgery. His research interests include outcomes studies in peripheral nerve, facial palsy, and microsurgical reconstruction. He has published in multiple journals and textbooks. |

Cynthia X. Pan, MD, FACP, AGSFSpecialty: Geratrics/Palliative Care Chief, Geriatrics and Palliative Care Designated Institution Official (DIO) of GME NewYork-Presbyterian Queens Associate Professor of Clinical Medicine Weill Cornell Medical College | Cynthia Pan, MD Dr. Pan is an internist, geriatrician, and palliative care physician. She has worked in multiple care settings, including inpatient and outpatient geriatrics and palliative care, home hospice, and longterm care. Dr. Pan is the founding director of the Palliative Care Program at NewYork-Presbyterian Queens (NYPQ), since 2010. This program has helped thousands of seriously ill patients and families since then. She is Division Chief of Geriatrics and Palliative Care Medicine, and key faculty member for NYPQ’s Hospice & Palliative Medicine Fellowship. Under her leadership, the NYPQ Palliative Care team is fully interdisciplinary, with physicians, nurse practitioners, social worker, pharmacist and chaplain. She served as a Co-Chair to Integrate Palliative Care in Nursing Homes for NYPQ’s DSRIP project, working with 27 nursing homes in Queens, to build front line capacity for palliative care in NHs. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Dr. Pan disseminated basic palliative care tools to frontline clinicians to help their care of seriously ill patients. She educated the medical and public communities by sharing her personal experiences, being ill with COVID-19, and lessons learned. Dr. Pan strongly believes in interdisciplinary education, and has a grant to provide small group communication training focusing on clinical communication and advance directives, using standardized patient actors. She has championed multiple quality improvement projects, including the routine use of MOLST forms at NYPQ, implementing an EMR Goals of Care/Advance Directives note, improving appropriate use of NIPPV, reducing avoidable falls among hospitalized patients, and optimizing appropriate use of feeding tubes. Dr. Pan always had a passion for medical education, as well as public education. In CAMS, Dr. Pan serves as Co-Chair of the Program Committee and the Wellness Committee. |

Vivian S. Lee, M.D., Ph.D., M.B.A, is President of Health Platforms at Verily Life Sciences, an Alphabet company whose mission is to apply digital solutions that enable people enjoy healthier lives. A passionate champion of improving health in the U.S. and worldwide, she works closely with Verily’s clinical and engineering teams to develop products and platforms that support the successful transformation of health systems to value and advance the co-production of health with patients, their caregivers, and communities. Among her roles as a founding leader of Verily Health Platforms include chairing the boards of Onduo, a virtual care digital health platform and Granular, an innovative stop-loss insurance company. She also leads the company’s COVID-19 employer and university product, Healthy at Work (and Healthy at School). Dr. Lee also serves as a Senior Lecturer at Harvard Medical School and Massachusetts General Hospital, and a Senior Fellow at the Institute for Healthcare Improvement. In 2019, she was ranked #11 among the Most Influential People in Healthcare (Modern Healthcare). She is the author of the acclaimed book, The Long Fix: Solving America’s Health Care Crisis with Strategies that Work for Everyone (Norton, 2020). Dr. Lee is the former Dean, SVP and CEO University of Utah Health. As a leading healthcare executive, she is committed to the advancement of value-driven transformation in health care (NYT Corner Office, STAT). As CEO, Lee led University of Utah Health to recognition for its health care delivery system innovations (Algorithmsforinnovation.org) that enable higher quality at lower costs (JAMA & editorial, NYT) and with higher patient satisfaction (NYT, HBR, NEJM), as well as successful strategies of faculty development and mentorship. In 2016, University of Utah was ranked first among the nation’s university hospitals in quality and safety (Vizient). Dr. Lee also commercialized the University of Utah’s health plan as Chair of its Board, during which it grew five-fold and was successful in the individual exchange. As Dean, she led the significant expansion of the School of Medicine class size with increased state funding, and helped raise large philanthropic gifts. Lee is an MR radiologist who developed novel methods for measuring kidney function and vascular disease with MRI. Funded by the NIH for 20 years, Dr. Lee was elected to National Academy of Medicine (formerly, the Institute of Medicine) in 2015, and in 2019, she received the International Society for Magnetic Resonance in Medicine’s highest award for scientific contributions and leadership, the Gold Medal. She served on the NIH Council of Councils advisory to the NIH Director and has authored over 200 peer-reviewed research publications. Presently she serves on the board of trustees for Boston Children’s Hospital, the Board of Directors of the Commonwealth Fund and the Association of American Rhodes Scholars, the Membership Committee of the National Academy of Medicine, and on the Scientific Advisory Board of the Massachusetts General Hospital. She is also a director on the board of Zions Bancorporation, a publicly traded company. Dr. Lee is a magna cum laude graduate of Harvard-Radcliffe Colleges, received a doctorate in medical engineering from Oxford University as a Rhodes Scholar, earned her M.D. with honors from Harvard Medical School, and was valedictorian of her Executive MBA program at NYU’s Stern School of Business. |

Most notably, Dr. Shih was one of the co-founder and Chief Medical Officer of CityMD, a large urgent care chain with over 120 sites in the NY Metropolitan area. As CMO of CityMD, he created their Scribe Academy and Aftercare services which was a key differentiator in the industry. Dr. Shih also founded Master Clinicians, a CME company focused on educating the next generation of clinicians working in emerging medical fields. In his spare time, Dr. Shih mentors several young healthcare executives and entrepreneurs and has been a guest lecturer every semester at Columbia’s Mailman School for Public Health for the past 4 years. He is also an operating partner at Ascend Partners. Recently, he was among those recognized in Crain’s New York Business Notable in Healthcare 2021 for contributing to the fight against the COVID pandemic. |
Dr. Tsang is a healthcare leader with prior experiences as CMO of the largest FQHC network for Asian-Americans, CMO at Merck’s Digital Service/Solutions division, and Medical Director at ONC/ HHS rolling out aspects of the Affordable Care Act. He was also a Congressional staffer on the Ways and Means Committee and helped draft legislation for the ACA and a Senior Advisor to the Governor of Hawaii on Value-Based Care. |
